By Gemma Brosnan Legendary punk band the New York Dolls are set to play a rare intimate London concert, following the announcement of their highly anticipated new studio album, 'Cause I Sez So'. The new album is set for UK release on May 4 and sees the New York Dolls back with producer Todd Rundgren for the first time since their 1973 debut, evoking much excitement amongst punk fans, desperately waiting to hear the results. After a spell recording in Hawaii and fresh from a South American tour, the band will play at the play at the legendary historic punk venue, The 100 Club, on Thursday 14th May. Originally a restaurant called Mack's, The 100 Club on Oxford Street has promoted live music on the same premises since 1942, hosting legendary performances from acts as diverse as the Sex Pistols, Muddy Waters, the Rolling Stones and the White Stripes. It hosted the first ever Punkfest back in 1976 which included The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Damned, Siouxsie & the Banshees, the Vibrators and Subway Sec, so it comes as no surprise that the New York Dolls should chose it to showcase their London return.
