15 year old dies during party in west London

A 15 year old girl has died at a party in west London with the Met Police arresting a 60 year old man on suspicion of possession of drugs and child abandonment. He was subsequently bailed to return on a date in June.

Officers were called by London Ambulance Service at approximately 04.10hrs on Saturday, 23 April, to reports of a female having fallen ill at an address in Barlby Road, W10.

A 15-year-old girl was taken to hospital where she subsequently died later that morning. Next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course. Formal identification is yet to take place, however next of kin are aware and the deceased can be confirmed as Isobel Clara Reilly from Acton, W3.

A 14-year-old girl and two boys, both aged 14, were also taken to hospital as a precaution. They are currently being kept in hospital for observation.

Officers from Kensington and Chelsea are investigating.

A 60-year-old man was arrested by police investigating the incident on suspicion of possession of drugs and child abandonment. He was subsequently bailed to return on a date in June.

Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death and officers await the results of the post-mortem examination.

Detective Sergeant Neil Philpott, from Kensington and Chelsea borough, said: "We believe the victim was taken ill during a party at the address in Barlby Road. We are yet to make contact with all those who attended and would ask anyone who was present at any point during the evening to make contact with officers by calling 0300 123 1212.
