Popular singing competition The X Factor is back and it will soon delight us again with talented contestants and special moments. Information about the start date, the judging line-up and a short teaser have been released and give us an idea of what to expect from the new series.
Fans of the show should mark their calendars, as the music competition will be back on ITV on August’s bank holiday weekend, which means it kicks off on Saturday, 27 August 2016, at 8pm. A second episode will air on Sunday, 28 August, at 8pm.
There are some things that are changing in the format of the show with this new series, but others are still staying the same. For instance, the X Factor judging panel will return to its original makeup, with Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh making their triumphant return to the show alongside Simon Cowell.
Additionally, ex-Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, who joined the judges’ panel for series nine and 10, is now returning after two years away. Simon Cowell has promised the audience a few surprises, and we can’t wait to see how these four will work together.
The show’s ratings reached an all-time low last year when Caroline Flack and Olly Murs acted as presenters, so producers decided to bring Dermot O’Leary back as host in the hopes that he will manage to steer it back on track.
As part of the revamp, this year we will get an online spin-off as well, called Xtra Factor and presented by Roman Kemp, who will serve as social media reporter for the show.
The music competition is going live from the very first episode and what producers pursue with this new series is to return to established success.
