While the latest information only shows a quarter of the first preference votes, as expected Johnson is winning in the outer boroughs and Ken in the inner. Livingstone is taking the lead in areas like Lambeth while Boris leads in Merton and Wandsworth. Candidates moods
Speaking to the BBC the Tory hopeful says: "I've got not a clue, we'll have to wait and see what the returning officer says." The incumbent mayor remarked "he felt fine" adding: "I'm just off for a swim, and then I'm going to go into the Labour headquarters and thanking the staff who work so hard. And then I'm just going to sit down and wait like all the rest of you, because none of us can be certain until they announce that result." The second preference vote will be crucial in securing the highest post in London politics. Final results are expected later this evening.
