Review Kia Venga 3 1.4 Litre CRdi  6 speed manual

John Kaponi

Kia has designed from scratch the new Venga to compete directly with the popular Citroën C3 Picasso 1.4 and the Nissan Note 1.4 Visia; the car does not fail to impress.  It’s a stylish yet sensible car ideal for zooming around town, or ferrying the family to events, an ideal car for a young family, with the sunroof adding to the "fun element" of the car.

The Venga, is a sensible and sophisticated car built for those who just want a useful car, with good economy, and without the oodles of speed you might expect in other cars, the Kia 7 year warranty is a major lure.

In terms of space the Venga is a big compact, five-seater MPV and is a practical car with sliding rear seats that slide to alter the ratio of people space to boot space, and, as you fold down the backrests, the cushions lower themselves so the backrests occupy their former space.

The Venga has three choices of torque and fuel efficient engines and the option of manual or automatic transmissions, the diesel version of the Venga comes with the EcoDynamics which allows the car to switch off the engine when the car comes to a stop, and the gear is put into neutral, and starts when the clutch is pressed.

The dashboard is very stylish with the centre of the dash equipped with a stack of controls and the perfect height for any driver, most of the controls are available on the steering wheel.  Air conditioning and airflow controls come as standard with a 6 speaker audio system with the Venga 2 and 3 equipped with iPod compliant sockets.
