Manchester United Football Club are moving its offices to London’s luxurious West End to secure new sponsorships deals from overseas.

The deal will see the club set up a team in 11,500 sq ft of Pall Mall office in Mayfair paying £80 per sq ft. The Telegraph has reported the move is in order to generate more revenue from sponsors abroad. ‘London was a more practical base for overseas companies travelling to the UK for sponsorship talks.’ Since Richard Arnold took over as commercial director the team has almost doubled its commercial revenue – from 42m to 80m.

The move to Mayfair will do little for the clubs local fans who feel the football clubs owners -  The Glazer family  ‘have lost touch with its roots ’ this latest move supports the clubs reputation of having more fans in places like London, than Manchester.
However, it is said that the 45 man operation has simply ‘grown too large for the current St James office’
