CITY DESK Parking your car in the capital is statistically more expensive than in any other part of the world according to a report published by Colliers International. To park your car in parts of the Square Mile costs are £586 per month, in the West End like Mayfair £582 as opposed to New York £292 per month and Tokyo £275 per month. The reason for the high expense of parking in London is the fact that London still dominates the worlds top position as the leading financial capital, and therefore costs are linked to the premium on parking. The congestion charge and rising costs of fuel in London have made running and using a car for the daily commute a very expensive and trying experience. Photo credit:picasaweb.google.com
