A flasher who exposed himself to three women on the Tube has been jailed for 18 months.

Alistair Ferguson, 46, of Hill House Road in Stone, Dartford, was sentenced at Blackfriars Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing to three counts of indecent exposure.

Ferguson exposed himself to three women in separate incidents on the Metropolitan line at Rayners Lane, Great Portland Street and Northwick Park stations between October and May.

The women were aged between 16 and 23.

BTP PC Joanne Drake, the investigating officer, said CCTV was key to catching the pervert.

"We arrested Ferguson and when we put CCTV images to him which showed him at the scenes of each of the three alleged exposures he had no option but to plead guilty.

“These incidents must have been very frightening for the victims. Despite this, they reported the crimes immediately, enabling us to download the CCTV which ultimately led to his conviction."

Sexual offences are very rare on the Tube network. There were 329 sexual offences on the Tube and DLR last year which is less than one for every 3.5 million passenger journeys each day.

* In an unrelated incident, BTP is also releasing a CCTV image of a man officers are trying to identify as part of an ongoing investigation after a woman was touched inappropriately on a Jubilee line train at Stanmore Tube station.

The assault took place at around 1.30am on the morning of Saturday 10 July.

The man is described as around 5” 6” tall with dark hair and was wearing a purple long-sleeved shirt with dark blue tracksuit bottoms and brown shoes. The man spoke with an Indian accent and is believed to reside in the Stanmore area.

Anyone with any information that can assist the police investigation into the incident is asked to contact BTP on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 quoting incident number 37 of 10/7/2024 or alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
