Routemaster case boosted

New safety records for London’s two remaining Routemaster bus routes have boosted the case for the reintroduction of the iconic vehicles.

Transport for London figures show an accident rate per passenger of less than one per cent over the last three years.

The Queen gave her "royal assent" today for the £16 billion Crossrail Bill which will come into operation around 2017. The UK economy and primarily London will benefit to the tune of £20 billion when the project is completed in 2017.

Transport for London have announced another onslaught on beleaguered London motorists, three strikes and you're out.

New rules will see vehicles clamped and towed in Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, if the owner has three unpaid fines - even if the car is legal parked at the time.

A major fire on top of Bond Street tube station causing offices to be damaged has caused the shut down of traffic to Bond Street and parts of Oxford Street.


Bus routes 7,10,25,55,73,98, 176 and 390 will be affected and may be diverted to use other routes.
