Wembley Stadium will host Tottenham’s Champions League matches for the 2016/17 season. The announcement was made public on Saturday morning.

The deal was made for the 2016-2017 season. Tottenham will play the home Cup, and Premier League matches at the national stadium.

The White Hart Lanne stadium (that is currently under renovation) needs to meet certain requirements imposed by UEFA. The work is estimated to be completed for the 2018/19 season.

Chairman Daniel Levy finds this opportunity beneficial for the club and a chance to accommodate over 50,000 supporters who are on a waiting list to see their team play live in a Champions League match.
