Detectives are investigating a murder after a man was stabbed at an address in Ida Road N15. Police were called at about 18:05hrs on Sunday 19 December to reports of the incident.

Officers, the air ambulance (HEMS) and the ambulance service attended. The victim, aged 40, was pronounced dead at the scene at 18:42hrs.

Police believe they know the man's identity but await formal identification. Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination is due to take place later today at Hornsey Mortuary.

A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday 19 December and remains in custody at Tottenham police station.

An incident room has opened at the Homicide and Serious Crime Command under DCI Lee Presland. Officers retain an open mind as to motive at this stage.
