Central London around Aldwych, The Strand will be pretty much a no go area with a large-scale terror attack simulation taking place at the disused Aldwych station.  The concerns over how secure the London 2012 Olympics will be, are now growing, with ever more signs that home grown jihadist, civil disorder may tarnish the image of London internationally, and derail the hopes of LOCOG that the London Olympics will be a success.

The number of security personnel on the streets of London during the Olympics, either the near the Olympic venues, or central London will be unprecedented, with all holiday cancelled for officers and staff for the Met during the Olympics. Army reservists, special services from the UK, US, Israel, France and other nations working closely to monitor potential threats.

The big fear is that a "lone wolf" attack, ie an individual, possibly part of a "sleeper cell" may launch an attack on London on one of our main transport links i.e. the underground.  This will have devastating impact, hence why the Met Police have launched a new campaign across London for all of us to report even minor things if we think actions of individuals are suspicious.

It’s important that London 2012 goes well, without major security issues, for about four weeks every single media outlet in the world will be focusing on London, we need to have all Londoners fully prepared.
