A pair of 19-year-olds have been charged with murdering a Matalan store manager in a botched robbery. Three raiders pounced on Jamie Simpson, 33, while he was cashing up at the back of the shop on March 22 last year at the Kingsland Shopping Centre in Dalston. He was knifed in the throat and left to die on the office floor after refusing to unlock the safe. Matalan put up a reward of £40,000 for the conviction of his killers. The accused
Anthony Maina was charged on Friday with murder and conspiracy to rob. He is due to appear in court on Monday. Duane Owusu, of no fixed abode, has been charged with murder. Two other men Simeon Jumah, 24, and Roy Williams, 30, are also due to appear before magistrates at Highbury Corner, accused of conspiracy to rob.
