A teen is fighting for his life after being stabbed in a broad daylight gang battle.

Black and Asian youths rampaged through estates in Mile End's Bow Common Lane area yesterday afternoon.

18-year-old in serious condition

The 18-year-old man is recovering in hospital after suffering multiple life-threatening stab wounds.

Cops believe the fight was arranged as a deadly arsenal of makeshift weapons were found at the scene.

Attempted murder

Four youths have been held on suspicion of attempted murder and another on possession of an offensive weapon - most of those arrested were Asian.

Columbia Road gang clash

Last Wednesday on Columbia Road behind the main Hackney Road, black and Asian gangs clashed for 20 minutes in running street battles.

Up to ten thugs armed themselves with spades, screwdrivers, clubs, poles and sticks as passersby fled in terror.
