A teen has confessed to killing a man in a homophobic attack in Charlton. David Smith, 19, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to manslaughter of Ronald Dixon in May 2008. His 61-year-old victim was with his partner when he was taunted, pelted with eggs, spat on from and punched in the face. Dixon had been recovering from a stroke - he hit his head on the floor and died from brain injuries. Smith, of Bexley, was told he faced a custodial sentence. Group attacked him
Prosecutors told the court how Smith along with another man and two women taunted, spat on and threw eggs at the gay couple from the window of a flat. Smith went out onto the street and hit Mr Dixon in the face smashing his cheek bone and leaving him with head injuries after he hit the road.
