The Met Office has issued one of its highest weather warnings, a yellow "be aware" alert for some parts of southern England on Friday, with a remote potential that London and the South-East may also be affected. Potentially heavy rain with a risk of flooding with strong winds, may cause major disruptions in the south-west of England, and other parts of the south of England. The Met Office issued the following warning for Friday: "A band of heavy rain will move north-east during the first part of Friday, falling on wet ground. The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding. A band of heavy rain will move north-east across south-western areas of England and South Wales early on Friday, with a further 10-20 mm of rain for much of the area and the risk of more than 30 mm over high ground." London has not been linked to the severe weather warning that will affect the South-West and South-East.
