Students have smashed windows and sprayed graffiti on police vans in demonstrations around Westminster this afternoon, with the protests outside of the Cowley Street offices of the Liberal Democrats and 30 Millbank the Conservative party's HQ.

Police have again "locked down" Millbank with cordons of officers and police vans stopping traffic and people.  Surveillance helicopters have also been deployed to monitor the actions of protestors around the offices of the Liberal Democrats in Cowley Street.

Protestors have been sending each other messages to "not give personal details" to the police if they are arrested and to give "no comment" if arrested.

The protests are not officially being organised by the National Union of Students, but by other organisations and separate student union organisations.  

On Whitehall London Daily News reporters have confirmed that a police van window was smashed and covered in graffiti, with flares put through the window.

Earlier this week the Liberal Democrats had been warned that student protestors may try to occupy their constituency offices across the country.

Last Friday angry university student marchers made their way and occupied two Lib Dem constituency offices, those of Jenny Willott in Cardiff and John Hemming’s in Birmingham.

Recent reports suggest that more than 20,000 school, college and university students have signed up on a stream on Facebook that signifies the ‘walkout’ from classes today from 11am.
