Ringleader of the Tormentors Morrissey has cancelled another London show due to ill health - this time the start of a three day residency at the Brixton Academy. The South London gig was due to take place tomorrow but has been called off to ensure the singer's "complete recuperation" from a throat problem. "Event Organisers would like to apologize to fans for the disappointment," a statement added. Morrissey's two remaining gigs at the venue, on May 29 and May 30, are still scheduled to take place. Mile End show cancelled - 'went against' doctor's orders
The intimate show at the Troxy Ballroom in Mile End was about to go ahead last night with fans given just hours notice. Earlier this month the ex Smiths frontman saw his Royal Albert Hall show k.o'd with throat problems. It has been reported the London cancellations are the result of Morrissey going against doctor’s advice and performing at a hometown show in Manchester- the night of his 50th birthday. Doctor’s orders have wreaked the 50-year-old's UK tour with cancelled and rescheduled dates littering music lover’s calendars - there are now serious doubts over a planned three night residency at Brixton Academy this weekend. A spokesperson for the Suadehead star said: "Morrissey is on doctor's orders to postpone the show, to ensure a complete recuperation. Event organisers would like to apologise to fans for the disappointment and are working to reschedule this show, so advise ticket holders to hang on to their tickets." Morrissey cancelled several shows in America at the beginning of his world tour earlier this year due to illness. Royal Albert show now set for October
