Tottenham Hotspur, north London's leading football team, is tonight warning the Football Association to not make an approach for  Harry Redknapp, following the resignation of Fabio Capello this evening.

Harry Redknapp was today found innocent of all allegations of tax evasion and thanked Tottenham Hotspur and the clubs fans for their support during the trial.  Spurs fans are today waiting to hear the fate of their much heralded manager, who is consistently being linked to the England job, and to date Redknapp has denied wanting the job formally.

However speculation is mounting across London that Redknapp maybe tempted by the England job ahead of the Euro's in Poland and Ukraine.

Harry Redknapp paid special tribute to Daniel Levy the Spurs Chairman when he left Southwark Crown Court and said:

"I want to thank the support I've had from Tottenham and Daniel Levy.  I especially have to thank the fans of Tottenham - the Wigan game was the most moving I've ever felt it.  To have them signing my name throughout the game that will always be special to me.  I'll never forget it".

Spurs fans reactions:

Ercan Sulaiman a Spurs fan from Palmer Green said:
"If Harry goes now it will devastate Spurs, we have built a formidable squad a team with belief and a team that can win,  Harry stay."

Ilan Ostroff from Hampstead said:
"Harry has been the best manager we at Spurs have had, we are building a team that can become true challengers to big Manchester clubs".

Stan Wilson from Ponders End said:
"I have been a Spurs fan all my life and what we are doing now at the Lane is truly historic, Harry would be stupid to leave and goto England, however unpatriotic it is".
