Nick Griffin the leader of the British National Party has apparently linked up other like minded political groups in Brussels in an attempt to tap into an estimated £360,000 from the European taxpayer.

According to various reports Nick Griffin's has created a loose alliance named the  "Alliance of the European National Movement" with Hungarian, French, Belgium, Italian and Swedish political parties in the European Parliament in an attempt to qualify for funding by the European Union.

To qualify for the funding, the BNP's "lose alliance" must include seven nationalities, each with their own MEPs, MPs or local councillors, if these criteria are met the group may be in line to share £10 million to all political parties linked to the group.

Griffin is quoted in the Daily Telegraph as saying:

"It is important for British taxpayers to get some money back.  Britain remains a net contributor and will go on being so, and we can get some of that money back to spend on good causes."
