A bus has smashed into a McDonald's in Walthamstow this morning.

People were tucking into breakfast when the East London company double decker mounted the pavement and careered into the shop front.

Four people were injured in the rush hour Hoe Street collision including the driver - roads were closed as investigators examine the scene and surveyors look at the building.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said no other vehicle had been involved in the accident which is being investigated by the traffic unit.
