One is a former premiership basketball player in Athens, and the other is a savvy busness executive, together Elina and Angeliki Grigoriou two sisters with bags of enthusiasm and a unique insight into innovative interior design concepts, have together created one of London's newest interior design consultancies "Grigoriou interiors".
Having already won several high profile clients, including one of the biggest "names" in Eaton Square; according to Elina "we finish one assignment and then move on to another". Despite the doom-mongers predicting that the UK economy is moving towards a "double-dip" recession the two sisters are adamant that business can still be done, if only clients concerns are adhered to over price and detail.
Interior design has become one of the "must have" professions to employ, by the upwardly mobile middle classes and the uber rich decamping in London. Having just finished a "dressing" of a high end property in Chelsea, business has never been better for sisters.
"Clients typically say to us we have done this before and we want something totally different and that is what we do in design interiors", Elina Grigoriou speaking to The London Daily News.
"I think I have been lucky all the new clients we get are from people we know already, we have focused on building strong relationships with people who can refer business to us", Angeliki Grigoriou.
The next step for the sisters "are little steps" with Elina now a leading figure in the Ska rating of buildings, and scheduled to speak in April at the "RICS Living Spaces: Taking Control of Energy Performance", during EU Sustainability Energy Week in Brussels.
It takes guts to setup a business during an economic slowdown, the Grigoriou sisters have an abundance of "guts" and excellent ideas for interior designs, the venture is another example of how Londoners with ambition and drive can succeed.
