A man in his 50s has been shot dead on the A41 in Cricklewood this morning.

Police said the victim was blasted several times around 0830 BST and was pronounced dead at the scene - no arrests have been made.

The A41, one of London's busiest roads was closed in both directions, and is currently shut all the way to Staples Corner on the North Circular.

A Met spokesman said:

"Police were called to reports of a man shot on Hendon Way near the junction with Garth Road.

The A41 (Hendon Way) has been closed in both directions as officers carry out enquiries.
