A murder investigation has been launched after the shooting of a man in Plummer Road off Poynders Road, in south west London yesterday morning Thursday 14 April.
London Ambulance Service and police attended the scene to find a man, aged in his 20s, who had been shot. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
We await formal identification and for next of kin to be informed. A post mortem examination will take place tomorrow (Friday 15 April) at Greenwich mortuary.
A number of people are assisting police with their enquiries. An incident room has been opened under Detective Chief Inspector Gordon Allison from Trident.
Detectives are keeping an open mind as to the motive.
Trident are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or for anyone who has information to call the incident room on 0208 247 4554 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Cordons were put in place this morning. However the Poynders Road cordon has now been lifted but some still remain in Plummer Road and in the immediate vicinity of the scene.
