Reverend Al Sharpton the human rights campaigner went on the offensive last night on the Jimmy Kimmel show justifying the eccentric behaviour of the late king of pop Michael Jackson.

In at times tense exchange with the talk show host Shaprton said:

"I mean I think if you have any iconic figure you get things people can laugh at".

The Sharpton interview comes a day after Uri Geller described as "sometimes friend" of Michael Jackson showed how MJ had been fighting a battle against the use of pain killers and pills.

Reports in newspapers indicate that the estate of Michael Jackson are set to benefit from annual earnings in excess of $1 billion from the various songs and DVD’s set to be released.
