Article Video Photos

Scrap metal thieves have stolen £15,000 worth of drain covers in Harrow in two weeks.

Roads in Pinner and South Harrow have been struck as 40 cast iron covers were swiped.

£125 per tone

Dealers can fetch £125 per tone while it costs the council £450 to replace each cover. New designs will make it harder for thieves to make off with the iron.
