Sadiq Khan was welcomed with ovation and applauses at the multi-faith swearing ceremony that was held at Southwark Cathedral, marking the beginning of his job as the Mayor of London.
Mr Khan is the first Muslim leader to occupy such an important position of a major Western European country.
The signing-in ceremony was held this morning in the company of supporters and friends. The event also symbolises the end of the Conservatives reign after eight years.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Sadiq Khan declared that he wishes to promote a transparent mayoralty governed by honest and accessible administration.
Sadiq Khan managed to beat his opponent, the Conservative Zac Goldsmith, with 1,310,143 over 996,614.
