Rush hour commuters were horrified this morning after a person 'threw themselves' under a train Wood Green Tube station. An air ambulance landed in the car park of Mecca Bingo as a rapid response unit and emergency teams sped to the scene but the individual was prounced dead at the scene The incident, around 9.30am threw the Piccadilly Line into chaos with all Westbound trains from Arnos Grove to Kings Cross suspended - the line has reopened but with severe delays. There are reports that the apparent suicide victim was a mental patient. A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately, one person was pronounced dead at the scene." Our own News Editor Declan Wilkes was on an Eastbound train at the time and witnessed the scene. "It had literally just happened as our driver alerted us we would not be stopping at Wood Green as we pulled into the station. As we slowly moved through we could see the other platform. People were screaming. My thoughts are with the deceased’s family and in particular the driver."
