Ronnie O’Sullivan’s fail to fulfil his obligation to face the press brought him a warning

Ronnie O’Sullivan refused to talk to the press and the BBC, the tournament broadcaster. This negative behaviour attracted a warning and a future fine in case of more breaches.

The five-times champion refused to participate at a mandatory press conference after winning the first-round at the Betfred World Championship. He escaped the journalists with a slap on the wrist.

The World Snooker declared in a statement that this was O’Sullivan first breach of the contract. As a result, he only received an official warning. If further incidents occur, it will lead to a penalty and an eventual referral to the World Professional Billiard and Snooker Association.

Ronnie O’Sullivan beat this Monday David Gilbert and secured his place in the Crucible’s last 16. In the next round scheduled this Saturday, he will face Zhang Anda and Barry Hawkins.
