A poll conducted by the London Daily News has shown that 84% have been victims of "road rage" on London roads, showing a sharp rise in violence on the capitals roads
.

One "road rage" victim Mrs Clark on www.myroadrage.co.uk said:

"I was driving queuing to turn left at a very busy junction. The lane to turn right can only usually accommodate 2 cars in busy traffic. There was a learner driver at the front who did not go fully to the front of the lane, so my thought was to wait until the driver moved forward to see if I could make the right hand turn. The man in a white van behind me decided to beep me and signal with his hand for me to move forward, which I couldn't because there was no room for my car....So instead of waiting a couple of Min's for the next change of lights, he decided to overtake me on my left side (whilst traffic from the middle lane was moving) and very nearly rammed my car to get into a non-existent car space. Luckily for me I managed to catch up after him and also managed to get my daughter to take a picture of his number plate. I know I cannot do anything personally, but this has helped. He was an aggressive, intimidating and quite frankly, dangerous driver."

With the recession, and pressures on family finances at historic levels, the roads are increasingly become battle-grounds for drivers with problems at home ready to "export their problems" onto someone else.

Greater London is seeing a hike in "road rage" with website  www.myroadrage.co.uk ranking London as the number city in the UK with the worse cases of road rage.

To address the ongoing problem of "road rage" leading insurance company  AXA Car Insurance, have created a campaign called “Respect on the Road” in an attempt to to try and bring back courtesy and respect to London roads. The campaign involves various forms of marketing with a Facebook fanpage created www.facebook.com/irespecttheroad and a YouTube video (featured below).

AXA Car Insurance have also recruited the help of London's black cab drivers, with a black taxi designated for members of the public to air their views on "road rage" in London,  The videos in the black cabs ‘Cab Cam’ show people expressing their concerns at the rising levels of "road rage" in London.
