Review - One For All URC-7960 remote control By John Kaponi
If like me you seem to accumulate loads of remote controls, and you just have to switch from one to another to either turn on the amp, DVD player, Sky box or television, then there is a solution which will, with complete ease, solve the problem.
The One-for-All URC-7960 which has just hit the market is a smart looking remote control which can control anything from your games console, to a DVD player or even a complicated AMP system.
One For All has launched SmartControl, the first pre-programmed universal remote for under £25 to work with all the latest digital equipment - HDTV, DVB-T, iPod docks, BluRay, Playstation2, Xbox 360, Full HD LCD, home cinema systems and MP3 players.
Similar pre-programmed buttons for 'Watch TV' and 'Listen to Music' enable you to manage all the main functions of your a/v equipment. The remote 'knows' which commands to send to which device - so you no longer have to switch between device modes or several different remotes.
It also features SimpleSet, a unique three button set-up system for all the most popular brands - you don't have to search for code numbers when registering the remote with your equipment. There's no need to pore through a manual either and SmartControl is guaranteed to work with all brands and can learn any function from the original remote.
One For All SmartControl is an innovative, yet easy-to-use remote - enabling you to control up to six audio-visual devices in your living room at the touch of one button, consolidating the multiple remotes you currently use (which saves on batteries too).
SmartControl has long-life compatibility as it has 'learning' technology inside, with dedicated backlit keys for new media applications. It runs on four AAA batteries (not included).
The One For All SmartControl universal remote is now available from Argos and Comet, priced £24.99 (SRP).
