"Raoul" hero worshipping and the crisis in the English psyche

Thousands of "English lads" are hero-worshipping the late Raoul Moat in what has now become a sombre soul-searching exercise for the English, who are trying to find individuals to believe in, heroes who inspire.

When the England national football team failed so abysmally it was the fault of the "Italian manager" not the fault of the useless, overpaid English footballers who could not give two hoots how well they did for the national team.  A nutter goes on the run shooting and killing one man, and is the focus of the media, and it seemed the majority of armed police in England, is now a "hero" for standing up to authority.

Its all a symptom of the prevailing crisis of "identity" that has spread all over England, with more and more immigrants now living and putting roots down, the English are panicking and are losing their culture and country.

Roaul Moat embodied the rebel spirit that many English aspire to, and his disdain for authority when he effectively took on hundreds of armed police officers.  The "English patriot" is branded a racist if he flies his flag of Saint George, and expresses any views that may be nationalistic.

There is a growing vacuum that is now being filled by extremists for pride and respect for England and the rich history of the English. Raoul Moat was no hero, but it shows how desperate people are in England to find figures to venerate like Moat, who are English, in a nation of spineless politicians and incompetent footballers.
