The Queen celebrates today her 90th birthday. Hundreds of well-wishers lined from Windsor Castle to the Guildhall to offer her cards, bouquets and gifts.
The Queen walked 100 yards from Windsor Castle’s King Henry VIII gates to the Guildhall in the cheers and applauses of her royal fans. Britan’s first nonagenarian monarch was greeted with the traditional “Happy birthday, dear Queenie”.
The crowd included not only Londoners but also visitors from foreign countries, like France and Indonesia. They all came to celebrate this remarkable day.
Her Majesty was accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh. She wore an elegant Angela Kelly citrus green wool, with silk weave coat and dress.
Google UK also marked the anniversary with a special dedication: “Happy 90th Birthday, Ma’am”.
In honour of Queen Elizabeth II, a collection of stamps was released by the Royal Mail. The institution celebrates today its 500th anniversary.
