The Westminster village which has singularly achieved to put off voters in London with record low turnouts is abuzz today with "frenzied" rumours of plots to oust Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Last night Caroline Flint and David Milliband all gave their support to the Prime Minister, following the resignation of James Purnell who explicitly called for the embattled Prime Minister to "stand aside to give the Party a fighting chance of winning.  As such I am resigning from Government".

The results in London to be announced on Sunday evening based on London Daily News figures are likely to show Labour totally wiped out with no Labour representation in Brussels from London.  The votes for Labour may come in at 8-10% per cent, some of the lowest polling figures in recent memory for Labour.

The Conservatives are particularly buoyant ahead of the results in London with David Cameron on his "Webcameron" channel on YouTube saying:

"This government has lost all authority and this government is falling apart in front of our eyes".

If the Conservatives manage to win 4 seats in London in the European elections and over 150 seats in the county council elections, this will mean without doubt the Conservatives will be the  next government in the UK.

Rumours from senior Labour officials who briefed the London Daily News last night have said that a general election in July is becoming increasingly "necessary".  The Labour Party cannot continue (according to Labour sources) sleep walking into disaster after disaster.

The London Daily News will be bringing live coverage of the election results in the European Parliamentary elections.
