Reports are indicating that the Prime Minister Gordon Brown is at serious risk of losing his eye sight, the economic crisis is having its toll but the PM still fights his corner for the UK News Desk
Gordon Brown is taking a physical battering with his eye sight in his right eye beginning to cause him serious problems; his left eye is totally blind caused by a rugby accident when he was 16 years old.
The current pressure on the Prime Minister is immense with reports estimating he is spending over 18-20 hours per day in meetings and briefings with advisers and other heads of state to try and provide relief for the current global economic crisis. The Prime Minister has been widely viewed as the leading statesmen in the world and is providing all heads of states his knowledge and experience of macro-economics, but at a massive cost to his eye sight.
In a report in the Daily Telegraph the Prime Minister is experiencing problems caused by: "Increasing problems with the other eye (right eye) and recently had to have a cataract removed."
The Prime Minister admitted:
"It does mean when you're speaking to an audience you automatically tend to correct [which direction to look in] so you've got to be careful. If you're reading something you have to look slightly to the side."
It has also been revealed that memos from the Prime Minister are in large print and triple space and at conference "the Prime Minister took a wrong turn off the stage and failed to find the exit" reveals the Telegraph.
"You can't understand Gordon if you don't understand his fear that he could go blind at any moment,' one friend said. "In public Gordon puts on a heroic performance, but there is always a cost."
The economic crisis seems to be without end and the toll of crunch meetings and the long hours will damage the Prime Ministers eyesight further. The Telegraph also asserted:
"There were also suggestions last night that Mr Brown's legendary temper was down to his frustration at his own limitations.”The anger is actually very much about him," one friend was quoted as saying."
