Police appeal for witnesses following Clapton shootings

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a shooting incident in the E5 area.

Officers had been monitoring CCTV in the area of Mandeville Street, Clapton, E5 at 23.30hrs on Tuesday, 10 January when they noticed three males on bicycles acting suspiciously.

As a patrol car was approaching the males a single shot was fired in the direction of their vehicle. The males then made off across a nearby footbridge.

A firearm was recovered at the scene.

No one was injured during the incident.

The men involved are described as black and aged in their late teens or early 20s.

No arrests, inquiries continue.
