Polish citizens living in the UK lead a league table of crimes committed by EU citizens with 6,777, Romania 4,343, Lithuania 4,176, Ireland 2,423 and Portugal 1,842.
According to figures from the Association of Chief Police Officers and a report in The Daily Telegraph, 54,000 EU citizens have been convicted of crimes in the UK in the last two years including murder, rapes and other serious crimes.
Police forces around the UK have already warned that local constabularies are at “breaking point” because of foreign criminals who require interpreters when they are charged with crimes. A police caution to a foreign national, who does not speak English, could according to police sources take up to six hours.
The London Daily News recently reported that over 30 per cent of prostitutes in London came from either Poland or Romania.
