Pest control called 218 times to Royal Free Hospital
Article Video Photos

Pest controllers have been called out to the Royal Free Hospital over 200 times in the past two years.

The hospital in Hampstead had to get insect control teams to deal mostly with cockroaches but also rats, ants, wasp’s nests, flies, silverfish, even pigeons.

A call out a week

Almost every week, contractors ISS Pest Control had to deal with an infestation of some sort. While the figures released by Camden Council last week don't say where the problems are, it's not believed to be in patient areas.
