Bookmakers Paddy Power asked 1300 people to name the greatest boyband ever. Jedward came in top with 45% of the vote, while The Beatles were second with 33%., Take That came third with 14% of the vote.

Paddy Power are keen to cash in on the Jedward phenomenon that has been causing lots of anger among music fans and generating the sort of media coverage and water cooler chatter that these made up PR surveys are meant to deliver.

A spokesman for Paddy Power said:

"We're genuinely gob-smacked with this result and would have presumed that the Fab Four would have easily topped this poll but once again Jedward have exceeded expectations and caused yet another upset".

We are also asked to point out they can bet on the 'X-Factor' outcome on the betting website.
