Is there a problem in the UK with British born Muslims being influenced by clerics in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi? Quite clearly yes. Is the Government any nearer to reducing "the threat" from these home grown terrorists? No far from it.

The emancipation of Muslims into British political life has seen Lords, front bench positions and other coveted positions in national and local government going to Muslims. The Government has failed however to understand that the "Muslim community" has dual allegiances and will always be influenced by Israel's invasion into Gaza, the war in Iraq and other military operations against Muslims.

So for the government today to announce that 20 British born Muslims could wage a terrorist campaign that may involve chemical, nuclear and biological warfare is nothing new.

More importantly why is the government not focusing on the number of dangerous foreign criminals living and operating in the UK freely?

If the 20 British Muslims are known then surely the security services will have already a well worked out surveillance operation in place, and should be able to prevent an attack.

The Government's new strategy is not science. We should all be vigilant and aware of suspicious movements, but the person who has decided to kill himself and others is someone the government cannot stop.
