Murder detectives are struggling to unravel the mystery surrounding a young woman’s death at a flat in Finchley.

Earlier this week, police found the 33-year-olds body in a studio flat on Ballards Lane above a beauty salon at about 6.50pm on Wednesday - it is believed she was Polish.

A post mortem had proved "inconclusive" -  toxicology tests and further examinations are due to be carried out in order to determine the cause of death.

The incident has been passed to the Metropolitan Police Service's homicide and serious crime command. Detectives are still waiting for formal identification to take place and are in the process of tracing the next of kin.
