The growing influence of Islam in the UK education system is manifesting itself in teachers being sacked and being forced out of their jobs if they oppose a greater role of this religion in British state schools.

A High Court ruling has awarded Erica Connor the former head teacher of New Monument School a figure of £400,000 due to "the campaign by two Muslim governors to give Islam a greater presence in a state school".

A campaign to oust Connor, it is reported resulted from Muslims at the school who accused the popular head teacher of "Islamophobia" which caused stress and her eventually leaving her job.

Surrey County Council, the authority in which the school was located, found that the council failed to protect Erica Connor and "intervene" to stop the actions of the Muslim governors.

A Muslim convert is accused of stoking up tensions at the school with the Judge in the case John Leighton QC reported in The Times as saying:

"The schools governing body had become dysfunctional as a result of the behaviour of the two governors and that the authority's failure to act had led to low morale and stress among staff.  The council had shown excessive tolerance for the two governors and had lost sight of the adverse effects of such conduct on the school".

Erica Connor was forced to leave her post because of the stress and depression caused by the actions of the governors it was reported, she was awarded £400,000.
