A mother and daughter have been stabbed to death in Newham this morning in what appears to be a family row.

The first victim in her 40s was found on Standfield Road at 7.30 - her, in her 60s was found moments later in a burning property on Leamouth Road.

Scotland Yard detectives think the killings were the result of a domestic row that got out of hand.

Upstairs in the loft, firefighters found the husband of the dead daughter, he was suffering from a serious slash wound to the neck and is in hospital. The Metropolitain Police said the man has been arrested.

A neighbour said the man had not lived in the house for a year.

More soon.
