Ringleader of the Tormentors Morrissey has cancelled his Royal Albert Hall show tonight due to throat problems.

The former Smiths frontman had just begun a major UK and Irish tour.

Ticket holders have been advised by organisers to keep their tickets and await more information.

Mozzer has been told not to perform by doctors and has been ordered to rest - it is not known yet if the illness will affect the show in Birmingham on Wednesday.

Morrissey cancelled several shows in America at the beginning of his world tour earlier this year due to illness.
