More Plaistow gang violence - boy stabbed near murder scene

There was more violence in Plaistow after a 17-year-old boy was knifed in the back just yards from an earlier fatal stabbing.

The schoolboy was wounded after two gangs of ten to 15 youngsters brawled on Prince Regent Lane, near Wigston Road, last Monday.

The area has been plagued by running street battles between the Plaistow Man Dem gang who 'run' the E13 postcode and the E16 gang.

Tensions had risen after the Man Dem made 'incursions' into the boundary between the two warring factions, namely a subway.

Another gang fight - another stabbing

Only a few hundred yards away on Whitwell Road 15-year-old Steven Lewis was stabbed to death on 24 January.

Cops found the boy bleeding to death in the street when they were called to deal with a mass brawl that had broken out at a church hall party.

Up to 300 youths attended the disco at St Cad’s Church hall and there was anarchy in the surrounding streets after revelers spilled out and organisers feared the rave was getting out of hand.

It is thought that members of the E16 gang are responsible for the murder. Lewis is believed to be a Plaistow Man Dem member.

Stable condition - arrest

Cops raced to the latest crime scene and the victim was taken to hospital where his condition was later upgraded to stable.

A police spokeswoman said one male was arrested and later released with no further action.

Anyone who can assist the police investigation is asked to call 0300 123 1212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
