White Britons will become a minority by 2066 if immigration continues at its current rate according to a recent research.
Professor David Coleman, Migration Advisor of Oxford University, warned last night that if the increasing rising phenomenon of foreign workers outside the EU coming to the UK is not halted, the consequences are that by 2066 white Briton’s would be outnumbered by immigrants and would be considered a minority in their own country.
The current pace of Immigration according to the Office of National Statistics is approximately 180,000 immigrants a year, and according to this statistic, if this current rate remains or even increases then the white British born population would rapidly drop from the current 80 per cent to a tormenting 59 per cent in 2051.
Prof. Coleman proposed a recommendation for the Governments proposed cap on immigrants coming to the UK from outside of the EU.
The Daily Mail reported that the Migration Advisory today will come up with a recommendation to deal with the cap on immigrants, however Prof. Coleman mentioned that even if the coalition government reduces the immigration rate to 80,000 from the current 180,000 white Britons would be outnumbered by 2080. Prof. Coleman said: “The transition to a “majority minority” population, whenever it happens, would represent an enormous change to national Identity- cultural, political, economic and religious”.
Leicester and Birmingham are both expected to become a “majority minority” in 2020, and two London borough councils were already majority non-white in 2001.
Conservative MP Nicholas Soames, who is responsible for the Balanced Migration group stressed the seriousness of the matter by saying: “Immigrants over the years have made great contribution to British life but its now really out of control. We must break the link between the right to work here and the right to settle here”.
