MISS DYNAMITE is set to put young musicians in the Somerset House spotlight with a brand new music project taking place over the month of July.

Building on nearly a decade of producing large scale music events and with the support of leading figures in the music industry, Somerset House is planning on opening up the world of music to under 18s in a unique new venture, WHAT NEXT.

Miss Dynamite along with a stream of professional musicians will spend three weekends in July with thirty 14-18 year olds in a series of workshops leading to participation in an all star main stage gig exclusively for under 18s at Somerset House.

Linda Bernhardt, Head of Public Events, Somerset House Trust, said: “WHAT NEXT is the result of extensive consultation and discussion with the industry. We are providing not only a structured opportunity to learn alongside the best in the business but also a major platform for young talent on the Somerset House main stage.”

The WHAT NEXT gig, taking place on Sunday 19 July at 18.00, the night after the last concert in Somerset House Summer Series, will feature The Wombats and Chipmunk, a specially commissioned collaboration between Lion Club and Ghetts, and guest artist Miss Dynamite.

Course participants will share the stage as support acts to showcase the work achieved on the course. Tickets at £15 each will be on sale exclusively to under 18s. No alcohol will be served and the concert will end at 10 pm.
