The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, met Zimbabwean Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, at City Hall this morning.

Boris Johnson said,
“I am a huge admirer of Morgan Tsvangirai’s courage and bravery. He has shown amazing commitment and perseverance in his struggle for freedom and democracy in Zimbabwe in the face of appalling violence and brutality."

The
Zimbabwe opposition leader was in London in an attempt to raise money for his failed state, with the Daily Telegraph reporting that "he has collected only small pledges on his previous stops during his tour" and diplomats alleged that this is because the West believes he is all but powerless while having to labour on Zimbabwe's behalf in the shadow of Mr Mugabe.
