In a scathing attack on the crisis that is engulfing City Hall former Mayor of London Ken Livingston in The Times said that Mayor Johnson has "no problem finding time to do his weekly newspaper column endless photo opportunities and head an active social life", but has not met with the leaders of the RMT to finalise a deal over the strikes on London Underground.

Livingstone in his Times article "How I would have stopped the Tube strike" said that he left Mayor Johnson "£1.5 billion in TfL's reserves" to fund infrastructure projects only to see Mayor Johnson "stop all infrastructure projects except those that are contractually committed".

In what is increasingly a test for Mayor Johnson the issue of finding a long-term settlement with unions to resolve pay demands will not go away according to the former mayor of London, "no amount of bluster about no-strike deals or laws is a substitute for doing the day job".

According to sources contacted by the London Daily News at other London newspaper’s the "love fest" enjoyed by Mayor Johnson is now well and truly over, with commentators on London affairs,  prepared to start publishing negative editorials over Mayor Johnson leadership style and inability to deal with complex problems.

In a recent poll published by the London Daily News readers were asked
"Are you satisfied with Mayor Boris Johnson handling of the dispute with the RMT?”
Yes : 27.96% (283)
No : 72.04% (729)
