Mayor Boris Johnson has backed a second Greater London Authority tax freeze.
Nearly £1billion is raised through City Hall's slice of Londoner's Council Tax bills - it would be the second consecutive 0% increase.
In his 2010 budget report, Boris Johnson called an end to eight years of council tax increases in a bid to save money in light of the current economic climate. He said:
"When there is less money in people's pockets, it is vital we do all we can to protect Londoners from excessive tax increases, while improving public services and continuing the investment London needs to beat this recession." 70% to Scotland Yard - £13.7bn budget
The Metropolitan Police will get 70% of the precept.
Transport for London, the London Development Agency, City Hall and London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority make up £13.7bn spending in total revenue budget expenditure.
